To be fair, though, you don't need to be hugely knowledgeable about the game (or OUFC) to make this statement - how big is a 'real chance', and what kind of 'impression'? I think he's fairly safe from being proved wrong!

On the face of it, being involved in the playoffs is a disadvantage, as the manager has to defer some decisions until he knows which league the club will be in. However, CW's networking seems to be strong....

I like the word 'forumite'. Even if I don't know any forumite personally.

Actually, yes I do. One.

I think that is a fair assessment. I'm still not quite sure I know how players look so much worse than they did, Batt especially. I used to be a big admirer, but last night he looked vulnerable defensively (in addition to that dreadful back pass) and offered little going forward. Chapman played some...

Distinctly WB Yeats.... Perhaps we will witness the Second Coming to the Football League.

I don't normally do these things, but:

Isis 2 - 0 Goldie
Constable, Chapman

I have to say that deanwindass's analysis looks excellent to me. All in all, dramatic though the descent has been, we are looking at several factors, I think, not just one. Murray's influence was huge, even when playing below his best. We often saw a pass to No8 - it appeared - because he was the on...

Agree with Isaac - not much choice for Wilder in terms of team selection, although Hargreaves was clearly not fit, so that if he wanted Chalmers to watch for 45 minutes, Chapman would have been a better choice. No way of avoiding that it was horrible. During the better section at the beginning of th...

Although it was a below par performance last night, it is easy to be too critical: of course the team is nervous, what with the weight of expectation, the history of three years ago, and the 'wobble' in full swing, according to some. I thought the defence was pretty good, and I would agree that the ...

I'd also want to stick up for Hargreaves - the header referred to above was seconds after being involved on the left touchline in the Kiddy half - for a 37-yearold, the coverage of the pitch was impressive. I agree about Cook - desperately out of sorts, and I can't see why. To some extent, Wilder ca...

Our highest away win since Duffy's hat-trick at Forest Green in October 2006? Or have I missed something?

I am concerned about Wilder's judgment over Chapman. Again today he clearly looked too slow and tactically unsound to be a right back. Again, the goal came from a cross from their left. There is an argument that for all Sandwith's pedestrian performances, it is as important to get proper cover for B...

Nothing new here, though - the local newspaper is just rounding up the available information. The only interesting thing (and that only mildly, because I also back CW's judgment) is who spoke to whom first, ie whether there was interest in Foster before CW told him he would not have his contract ren...

Luke: Chris, did you know my contract was up in the summer? Chris: Yes, Luke, that's one of the things a manager is paid for. Luke: And...? Chris: And? Luke: Well, it's about time we had one of those little negotiation thingies, and then it goes up on the website that I've signed for another two yea...
