Squads for next season..

Post by Swissbloke »

Cambridge and Wimbledon just let a load of players go...

Danny Potter, Jai Reason, Lee Phillips, Callum Willock, Aiden Palmer, Antonio Murray, Mark Beesley, Courtney Pitt and Ben Farrell have all been let go by Cambridge

Jay Conroy, Derek Duncan, Elliott Godfrey, Will Hendry, Alan Inns, Ben Judge, Paul Lorraine, Ross Montague, Glenn Poole, James Pullen, Peter Rapson and Lewis Taylor have all left the Wombles.

Wrexham have also got 8 coming in apparently.

&quotWe haven't scored enough goals so have not finished where we should have. ... To do well in this league you have to be able defend set plays, head the ball out of your own box and be able to score from set plays - and we haven't done that very well.&quot

Not about us, actually, but said by Dean Saunders on Wrexham.

On the face of it, being involved in the playoffs is a disadvantage, as the manager has to defer some decisions until he knows which league the club will be in. However, CW's networking seems to be strong....

As far as I'm aware, the following are out of contract at the end of the season:
Billy Turley
Kevin Sandwith
Chris Hargreaves
Franny Green
|| the loan players:
Matt Green
Alfie Potter
Jake Wright
Lewis Chalmers
John Grant

I think I'd keep Sandwith and try to get hold of the loanees with the exception of Grant.

I agree with all of that except for the keeping Sandwith and trying to get hold of the loanees with the exception of Grant part.

If we don't go up then I think we should try and keep the loanees with the exception of Grant, but if we do go up then we should try and keep Wright and Potter, but not t'others.

I would be happy to keep Turley subject to wage level.

Happy to sign Matt Green, Alfie Potter and Jake Wright, again all subject to wage level. The others aren't good enough.

I note on my I-pod touch version of Football Manager (very good btw although Oxford could do with a higher transfer kitty - where is the 12th man fund hmmmmm?) that Turley announced his retirement 2 weeks into the season. I had just signed a 20 year old and stuck him on the bench at Billys expense, but an over reaction I felt.
