to some extent i think we need to forget the personnel involved, and look at the shape of the team patterson is trying to deploy. 3/4 of the back four will certainly be here next season, and turley, but otherwise with the number of loan players and young players, the faces look certain to change.
in the second half we played the ball on the wings and created opportunities again - and the absence of chances has worried me most over recent weeks. hopefully we'll see patterson try and settle this strategy down now - he seems to have the players for it now. but then we didn't after altrincham.
what followed the altrincham game is of course the obvious counter to snake's assertion, and i have bad memories of such assertions! ("we'll party at the racecourse" in particular...

. but hey, let's be positive - hopefully patterson is seeing the same things we are, and knows that these particular shaped pieces can fit together. i'm sure that these players won't all be here next season, and that doesn't worry me as it does boris - some will stay, and those that don't, patterson can go and find the replacements with confidence. but i certainly wouldn't mind blackwood staying though, on the evidence of the second half.
