Which is exactly why I think that the final score flattered us.
Disagree. We were well on top once we scored. Not great quality but a desire and hunger that I had not seen before this season. Against reasonable opposition this time.

Much better application all round yesterday.

Alty still sticks in my mind as I thought this was going to be the turning point so am not going to get carried away by beating Histon when they shoud have been 2-0 up after half an hour. We need to do this on a regular basis now.

I agree with DLT now Duffy has gone is Yemi the new target for abuse? Instead of getting on his back lets accept that he's just going through a bad run of form at the moment, getting on his back will only make that worse.

He was last years player of the season, is now playing in a unfamilar role and has been injured. Why are some people writing him off - another example of the 'best fans in the Conference'.

I also didn't really care when we scored yesterday going up from sometyhing like 14th to 13th in the table is hard to get excited about.

There's a difference between &quotgetting on somebody's back&quot and expressing irritation and frustration at instance after instance of poor play and poorer decision-making. Yemi's impact comes largely from his pace, and he seems to have lost a lot of that (Salisbury goal notwithstanding) ... if he is injured, then he should be being treated and working on his speed. IF he was injured and has damaged himself by being played through that injury, then that's a real black mark against the club.

Much Much Much Better!!!

After the Aldershot Game this comes as a feel good victory.

In my humble view things maybe on the way up slowly of course but the new players all look better than what we had before.

Thats why im backing Patto for the long term to many short term soloutions have been tried none have worked so unless Patto takes down which i cant see even in my worst nightmares we should back him for at least 2/3 years. I know some folks say he will bore the crowds away but if Histon is anything to go by ermmmm thats complete bullyocks i had a great time.

So altogther nowwww Pattersons Yellow Army!!!!!!!

And i was rewarded for my Postive Metal Attitude with a WIN!!!!
Woooo Hoooo!

to some extent i think we need to forget the personnel involved, and look at the shape of the team patterson is trying to deploy. 3/4 of the back four will certainly be here next season, and turley, but otherwise with the number of loan players and young players, the faces look certain to change.

in the second half we played the ball on the wings and created opportunities again - and the absence of chances has worried me most over recent weeks. hopefully we'll see patterson try and settle this strategy down now - he seems to have the players for it now. but then we didn't after altrincham.

what followed the altrincham game is of course the obvious counter to snake's assertion, and i have bad memories of such assertions! (&quotwe'll party at the racecourse&quot in particular...). but hey, let's be positive - hopefully patterson is seeing the same things we are, and knows that these particular shaped pieces can fit together. i'm sure that these players won't all be here next season, and that doesn't worry me as it does boris - some will stay, and those that don't, patterson can go and find the replacements with confidence. but i certainly wouldn't mind blackwood staying though, on the evidence of the second half.

I agree with most of the sentiments on here. Much better.

Murray looked good and, at least for one game (that I've seen anyway), we had a midfield! Both strikers looked good today, but obviously Green will get the plaudits for the 2 goals.

My one small concern, which has already been mentioned, is if we lose all these new players at the end of the season then the whole 'rebuilding' process that Patto implemented during January, by getting the players in and offloading some of the dross, will have been pointless and we'll be no further forward than we were come January.

This is, of course, assuming we don't have a run in of miracle proportions and sneak that last play off spot....

Yep and pigs really do fly.

'Our only weaker positions are now central midfield (Hutchinson who played OK yesterday) and right wing (Yemi who did not play OK yesterday).

Time for Yemi to get a period on the subs bench methinks'

Well you don't seem very keen on giving him a chance to play through this bad patch. By saying that one of our two weak links in the team is the position that Yemi plays somewhat suggests that you'd be keen to see him replaced.

Or have I read too much into that?

Sections of the crowd were also airing their frustration when he tried to run at a player and lost the ball - subsequently he then looked to pass it when he next got it.

Having spent the last 6 months arguing with you that Yemi is a better striker than Duffy, and even given that I think Yemi's best place is as a right winger, yes you've read way too much into that.

I'm a Yemi fan and when fit (which he clearly isn't and this has been speculated about for the last 4 months) and motivated, he can be a very dangerous player with his extraordinary pace.

I just think he needs treatment and a rest and when fit and playing wide right in a confident team, he will be a huge asset.

BTW, you can always specify me by name, rather than post a general criticism, if you want to dispute something I've written.

It was meant as a general thing as the crowd on Sat seemed to be turning on him - your comments mearly illustrated the apperent general feeling.

If he is injured or not fully fit he clearly needs a rest.

It might have worked after those penalty saves.

He was actually looking for a steward because the lino pointed out that the net hadn't been properly secured. Second time this season that's happened, bloody amateurs.

What was the World Cup match where that happened? In 1994, I think.
