Ultimate Yellows - warning contains OUFC passion
Re:
The noise would come over well on the radio though & perhaps the atmosphere would attract more people to experience it first hand."boris" wrote:[ We were considering SSU at one time, beneath the press box and opposite the away fans. The advantage of that position is that, judging by Sat's attendance, there are virtually no st holders (or anyone else) who sits there. The disadvantage was that we felt the high price of SSU would put off those used to OM prices (like me).

yes, i also want to move over and become an ultimate yellow, and would like to know what seats you are all sitting/standing in."theox" wrote:What rows/seat numbers are we looking to congregate round?
looking forward to it and thankyou for it!!
I think most of us are looking to try and be near the netting, around half way up (there were too many st holders at the back). From initial responses it sounds like there might be quite a few of us. Apparently someone's even contacted the club about bringing a drum (not our idea, but an independent thought).
Having had a ST at the very back of the North Stand in Season 2 at The Kassam (in Season 1 I was at the very back of the left side East Stand, and now I’m in the SSU) I can reassure readers of this forum that it’s more or less sit where you like as there is plenty of room..
If UY is going to take off properly then if people are going to quibble and be protective about “their seat

I have a ST in the back row of the North Stand, and have only sat in my allocated seat once this season. There will be a load of kids with their parents (the half-time show) in the North, I shouldn't think they will need much encouragement to join in with the noise."Snake" wrote:Having had a ST at the very back of the North Stand in Season 2 at The Kassam (in Season 1 I was at the very back of the left side East Stand, and now I’m in the SSU) I can reassure readers of this forum that it’s more or less sit where you like as there is plenty of room..
This was my thought - isnt the north stand where the family enclosure is?
If so, you might find some resistance to anything they perceive as the more confrontational element of supportdom (which deliberately positioning yourselves as close to the opposition supporters can be seen as being).
If it is as light-hearted, good-natured and fun as you make out then great, but it will only take one incident of a combination of exasperation at the onfield exploits or our side, the subsequent taunting of the visiting crowd and an infiltration from the less welcome element of the fanbase to turn things quite nasty quite quickly...I would expect to see a few extra TVP loitering nearby for the first few weeks if I were you....

...but they had 2 for the Exeter game! For some reason there were no kids and parents in the North Stand for Half-Time on Tuesday, which is probably why Rosie asked for some 'volunteers'"Matt D" wrote:only one kid needed for the 'hit the crossbar' contest..."SteMerritt" wrote:Usually total numbers of (a guess) around 75-100, depending on the activity.

Kids will love it if this thing works!"SteMerritt" wrote:As A-Ro states, family area is opposite side of the pitch. The club seems to use the North Stand area for placing the kids who do the penalty shoot-outs etc along with their parents. Club didn't seem keen
I just moved and bought 2 extra seats for the game to the North Stand. On asking where did I want to sit, i asked to go "near all the other noisy lot moving"
She sort of sniggered and said not many had moved. PAH.

It’s quite likely that UY will be a flop, because looking at the Division V League Table it’s not hard to understand a degree of apathy from some OUFC supporters right now, given that we’re currently chasing Torquay United for an automatic promotion spot and fighting off challenges just below Us from Salisbury, Forest Green Rovers, Grays, Histon, and Farsley Celtic.
However, I’ve always been a believer in trying out crap ideas, just to see what happens next..
