Cardiff and Coventry are competing for the signature of Oxford defender Luke Foster. (Daily Star)

Not surprised, I wonder what price Patterson would sell at.

I would hope Patto will try to keep him.

If Foster wants away, then that's a different matter.

He may not 'want away' as such but a much fatter wage packet and the possibility of Euopean football may lure him away. I know I'd certainly think about it!

in retrospect, perhaps we should all have voted for hutchinson as player of the season...

I would imagine if he goes to the Championship he would be on 2/3 times his existing salary. Even if he was bench warming. At least. What would you do?&gt

I hope he doesn't go but would understand if he did. There's something nice about having a player that another club might want for once though isn't there?

It makes a change from trying to force out overpaid talentless wasters of the Hutchinson variety.

Hmm. Difficult one for Patto if an offer does come in. Do we sell now and get some money for him or keep him for next season and risk getting nothing for him if he refuses to sign a new contract.

Personally I'd like to see him stay. He's been a rock in our defence since he's come in and well deserved player of the year. Need players like him if we're ever going to get out of this god forsaken league.

If we stopped Foster having the chance to further his career then we would soon struggle to sign any other players who had upwardly mobile career ambitions.

Paper talk like this rarely materialises. I would be worried if it was a league One side looking to sign him.

What is the betting that it is a clever agent going about his work again. I bet we have an announcemnet that the club have offered Fossie an improved contract this week.

I agree DLT, we can't stop him moving on if that's what he wants.

No harm in trying to persuade him to stay though.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were clubs looking at Foster, and probably some looking at Green, Yemi, Trainer and Patterson as well.

I would hope someone is looking at Hutchinson and Jeannin, as otherwise we'll probably have the two wage burners again next season.

Whether it is Cardiff and Coventry looking at Foster who knows. The Daily Star is hardly a World renowned source of reliability.

Yes Trainer. His improvement has been huge and in my view he is now league standard.
