Re:
Good idea Swiss but can you think of any "famous football people" who've been in the London Road? The operative word being famous."Swissbloke" wrote:How about famous football people that (are known) to have been in the London Road.
Kevin Francis bouncing about with us when he was suspended and
Bora Milutinovic who watched a game in 96 or 97 for some odd reason from the Left Side.

Wasn't Branson seen eating a pie in there at one point. I've also seen Gaz Coombes at the top of London Road (Right side)"Mally" wrote:Good idea Swiss but can you think of any "famous football people" who've been in the London Road? I once quite literally ran into Eddie Jordon at the Manor. It was on the Beech Road steps rather than the London Road though."ty cobb" wrote:Wasn't Branson seen eating a pie in there at one point. Robert Maxwell was famously on the London Road terrace once, and wasn't Seb Coe refused entry to the London Road because his ticket was for the Beech Road? Legend has it that he turned up just late and said to the turnstile operator "Don't you know who I am? I'm Sebastian Coe" to which the official replied "You should be able to get round there in time for kick-off then". This may just be a myth, though.

Speaking of radio appearances, does anyone else remember when Danny Baker was taking the piss out of us on 6-0-6 for losing 7-1 at home to Birmingham? He wondered what the crowd reaction was to scoring when already 7-0 down, and someone managed to send in a recording of the London Road cheering the goal, which Baker played over and over again in amazement that there was so much enthusiasm.

Where in the programme? I've skimmed through a few times and can't find him."boris" wrote:I thought young Dominik was a Beech Road shelfer?
Of course the famous Gary Silver was a London Roader. He was surely the only Oxford supporter to earn a mention in the Gateshead programme the other week.

I will have a look this weekend, not sure what sort of condition the seats are in or even if my dad has thrown them out."Roo" wrote:If you dont mind......?"The OXman Cometh" wrote:I may have something at my dads house, i think there are some seats from the Beech road, i will have a look if you are really interested."Roo" wrote:So.......does anybody know of any going spare anywhere....I've got a bee in my bonnet about this now!
