But I'm very happy to bow to others' opinion, and I look forward to seeing him in action at Pompey a week on Saturday.
I certainly remember his performances as being extremely good - and maybe this is why...very good performances in a team that, collectively, was under-performing. Bored with pre-season now. Bring on Pompey and let's get on with it.

Not sure I agree about that GY.
At right back you have:
David Hunt
Matty Bevans
Kenzer Lee
Andy Whing could pay there as can Johnny Mullins of course.
At left back you have:
Tom Newey
Jonny Meades
David Lynn

Comment 24 is especially funny:
"Good luck at Oxford Johnny...you have made a fantastic decision...working near to the family home...security of a long contract...beautiful university town with upmarket people going to the games in nice expensive clothing...not being shouted at...well done fella...enjoy and do well."
What little they know!

Davies can also play RB, but I would perhaps remove Lee from that list for now, from what I've heard I think he'll need a year in the Dev Squad before we see him in the first team.
Think a chance was missed last night to play Meades at LB, we know he has played there in the past, but it seems he is here for a MF role first and foremost.
How did Bevens do last night - sounds like all of our problems were down our left, so does that mean Bevens did OK on the right? Would he not have been having to deal with Tom winters as well, which wouldn't necessarily mean the easiest of evenings...?

Totally inaccurate. We're a city, not a town.
Must go and buy my nice expensive clothing for the forthcoming season soon.
