Reserves tonight.

Post by Druid »

Excellent, entertaining game.
Team consisted of all youth team players plus Fletcher and 2 triallists, against an experienced Luton side with several recognisable names, most notably Craig McAllister(the slowest player on the field).
United played pacy, passing football throughout and stuck to the task well after going 3-1 down.
Fletcher scored 2, but otherwise was one of the least impressive performers.
Stand out performances were Ty Marsh, George Morris, David Lynn and the 2 triallists (without whom we would have looked extremely lightweight).
Goal of the game was from young left back Lynn.
The triallist were Eoin Wearen, CB from West Ham and Lewis Stockdale, CM from Portsmouth.
A very encouraging display from a side with no player over 20.

Thanks for the report Druid. Also to new OM writer @DavePritchard83 for tweets.

A small moan that no senior players, in particular McLaren, were involved. Know there is a big game at the weekend and we have injuries, but relying on triallists (who I doubt we will ever see again) does not seem proper.

On the positive, some encouraging signs of progress from our youngsters.

I thought we let Fletcher go when we signed Rendell and Johnson. Am I misremembering, or have we got him back again as cover for our injured forwards?
