Of course it is valid. It is requiring the thoughts of the reader to be added to reach the same conclusion as the author. The sentence could have been continued to detail the reasons behind the conclusion, but was left deliberately truncated, and so the ellipsis was perfectly formed. I would be interested to see a valid source, stating grammatical regulation rather than opinion, that an ellipsis should be preceded by a space or formed of just 3 dots!"Ancient Colin" wrote:There is a four dot ellipsis, but I am not sure it is valid there and, even were it valid, I am not sure that it would not require an additional space.

You should have used your spillchocker.

I’m pleased that no one leaked this one ages ago and I take my hat off to all who were party to the negotiations, but on the other hand it’s ultimately failed so maybe it was not all that serious after all."Hog" wrote:First time you've mentioned it Snake!"Snake" wrote: Seems like we’ve now officially lost Bridle. Did I hear on RadOx after the game that they're hoping to get them into the Football League in 5 years? You've got admire their ambition when they currently have only a few hundred supporters and the 30,000 other local fans flood to a slightly larger club about 3 miles away. Perhaps they're hoping to pick up the ones who won't be able to afford Premiership prices?
What has failed? Bridle's efforts to buy the Grenoble Road ground or to buy Eastleigh FC?
Eastleigh's website seem confident they've still got a goer
"Eastleigh director of football Dave Malone has stated that some of the club's new investors may be in attendance at Tuesday evening's Third Qualifying Round replay: "We are hoping that one or two of our proposed new Investors (Bridle Insurance) may be at the game - so please come along and make them feel welcome!"
I assume you've all seen the thread on TiU but just in case you haven't, see this ...

Damn! Click on the OUFC Management heading and then the Bridle Insurance thread
... which has some interesting contributions from Bridle themselves.
