Mystic Meg's Boot

Post by Boogie »

Put the following cards in order. Longest run wins with answers checked based on BBC text. You may play as many cards as you wish and do not have to play all of them:-

Card A) First free kick.

Card B) First corner to Oxford

Card C) First corner to Stanley

Card D) First booking

Card E) Second booking (can be same player = red)

Card F) First Goal

Card G) Half-time

TB1: Result (win/draw/lose)
TB2: Final score
TB3: Half time score

Ha ha - Like it

OK then....

A)
C)
B)
F)

I assume that if D E or G happen before any that I've selected then the run stops there. Or is the run based on just those you select?

TB 1 Draw
TB2 1-1
TB3 1-0 (to AS)

Run based on just those you select. You decide how mystic you want to be. A wrong choice makes the run void.

Depending on whether &quotA -first free kick&quot refers to the point at which it is conceded or at which the kick is taken, my entry is below(ie. a player is booked for conceding the first free-kick)

C
F
A (conceded*)
D
A (taken*)

TB1 - Lose
TB2 - 2-0
TB3 - 2-0

You are a pedantic lot.

For the purposes of this exercise it will be the free kick given, not taken, which means that a booking deriving from the foul causing the free kick to be taken will come after the free kick not before. Simples.

Is a goal kick a free kick?

And does a red card count as a booking? (There is no such thing as a booking is there?)

Well none of the few were mystic and as I am not psychic I could not pick up what anyone else thought - sorry Hog/Hoglette but I was on a plane when your text came in.

I'll give it to Yanke Clipper as whilst both our runs failed and we had identical TBs, he at least had a Free Kick as the first incident.

That is kind of you, but as we were identical I am going to ask you if you could kindly re boot. I am away Thursday to Tuesday missing both games and will not have the chance to check a Saturday boot in time for the Monday game!!

I claim a moral victory as I think I was the only person to actually get two consecutive events anywhere within their predictions...

... but was still miles off on everything else, so boot away guys
