Anyone priced this up yet?

Haven't done so myself as the dates don't suit but I'd still be interested to know how much it costs. I wonder why they can't just publish a ball park figure rather than invite you to phone and, presumably, negotiate.

Re:
I echo your thoughts. I’m almost tempted to contact Virgin, negotiate for about an hour or so on the ‘phone and then play around on the internet holiday comparison sites, get a confirmed price, then say the magic words i.e. “Oxford United"Hog" wrote:Anyone priced this up yet?

Indeed.
Assuming the club are buying up 25-30 plane seats and hotel rooms (at a discount) for players and officials then surely they would get an even bigger discount for say 250-300 similar items. They could then sell them off to Us, and even cream off a bit to help pay for the trip.
Have to say I’m a little mystified by this.

I've put this point forward as part of the recently advertised "Chairman's Question". Be interesting to see what they say."Snake" wrote:Indeed.

Having done a ton of research on travel costs last summer for a trip to Ireland, here's a few things I found:
*Tripadvisor.com is a must to use for comparison arifares. Incredibly helpful, I looked once or twice a day and noticed many pricing trends, sales that popped up, etc.
*Airfares hit their best cost 2-3 months before the travel dates (at least they did last summer)
*Flying on Tuesdays or Wednesdays was the least expensive
*Oddly enough, fares were less expensive when actually looking on Tues-Thurs (presumably most people look on the weekends so they pop the price up a bit)
*I believe the only close alternative to Boston Logan airport is Manchester, New Hampshire. That can be less expensive than Boston but then again, thats probably a US domestic deal. Not too many flights direct from the UK I suspect. Worth a quick look anyway...
