Quite! Still snowing heavily here and -8 forecast for tonight. A maximum of -2 tomorrow and yet more snow. Call me a wimp and a big girl's blouse but I think I shall stay put and write my Christmas Cards."slappy" wrote:I've just watched the Yellow Player report. covers are on, warm air blowers, Chris Williams has poked a screwdriver in the pitch with ease. unless there is a marked drop in temperatures game should go ahead."boris" wrote:Game on!
Light snow showers forecast for today (this morning's snow has already melted) and temps above freezing for Sat. KT was on the radio this morning, standing on the pitch (he alleged) and reckoned that barring any unforeseen snowfall the game was 90% certain to proceed. Covers were down and hot-air blowers were being used on the worst bits, and the uni groundstaff were working all hours to ensure the game goes ahead.
Whether I can get to it is another question!
Frozen pitch, Barnet game at risk

Just watched the video on Yellow Player and it all looks good. Huge covers and at least one blower in the clip, plus Chris Williams doing a screwdriver test showing that it still takes a stud."Hog" wrote:Spoke to the ticket office this afternoon and the chap in there said they've got warm air blowers on it and he's pretty confident it will be okay. I hope so as I'm forgoing some overtime to attend! We'll see ...
Game on it appears...

Yep - I was up there at 7.15 tonight to see the latest Potter flick (the film not fancy footwork from Alfie) and the pitch is completely covered, there is a large area under raised covers with hot air blowers doing ten to the dozen and several people still working on it - good effort."slappy" wrote:Jim White was reporting from the stadium for newsnight. As Sloppy says, getting there may be a different matter, but there's not much the club can do about that.
I live half way down a hill and getting my car more than 20 yards from my drive is the biggest problem for me.
Watch the first few minutes of Thursday's newsnight(sound turned off) to see the pitch preparations

Yes I do. I've been after a 130 county station wagon for some time (it would really help with running scouts too), but unfortunately, the missus sees things differently...."A-Ro" wrote:You need a Land Rover."GodalmingYellow" wrote:I live half way down a hill and getting my car more than 20 yards from my drive is the biggest problem for me.
