Bitter rivals eh...not quite so sure we're as bitter as they'd like us to be.

It means SO much to High Wycombe F.C. supporters that they can't even raise a team to play Raging Fever F.C. at home.

The vast majority of Confrence teams managed to do this both home and away.

well, it matters a lot to me, and i was pleased to see an oxford side turn up in the second half to whom it seemed to matter as well.

second best in the first half, we took the game to wycombe in the second half. while we never looked quite as composed, considered, or incisive as wycombe moving the ball forward, our helter-skelter attack should have got us a goal.

a score draw would have been a fair result on the balance of the game, but given that betsy was good enough to try and be a clever dick with his one-on-one chance, it would have been very sweet to nick this.

still, an away draw: let's get them at our place. we'll need to improve to do that though.

Fair analysis. Thought a point was probably fair on both sides, although I felt we probably edged it slightly for our second half performance. Poor Beano must be wondering what he needs to do to get a league goal!

Although on paper two points from nine doesn't look great, I'm happy with our start to the season. I've only seen the Bury and Wycombe games, but I thought both sides will be top-half (maybe higher in Wycombe's case) and we played very well against both for long spells. Losing to Bury was a freak - on another day we might've hit six or seven.

Before the season I said we'd be top-half, and I've seen nothing to change my mind.

Incidentally, what was all the aggro about yesterday? Looked like poor stewarding (which I think was the case last time we played there too), although a few of our lot didn't help themselves with their attitude. Anyone know?

Standing in the seats / isles? Problems always occur when there is a sell out and people don't sit in their allocated seat. Last time we went there I asked a steward if we had to sit in the designated seat. He said yes. Other stewards said it didn't matter. It doesn't take a genius to suss out that this is not going to work. I reckon Wycombe are far from blameless - can't understand how with every seat obviously taken by the Oxford fans along the side where I was sitting there were lots of supporters stood along the wall at the front.

Do our lot ever help??

the problem started when the stewards tried to clear the stairways. a supporter took exception to something (i've no idea what), but dealt with this by pushing one of the stewards down the stairs and onto some of the seated oxford supporters. he was then bundled towards the exit by other stewards, and the problems followed that.

of course we don't help ourselves, but if allocated seating isn't properly stewarded from the start, it will always be a mess. with a sell-out oxford crowd, wycombe could have foreseen the need for better stewarding as people filtered into the stand.

Very poor in my opinion. At the end of the day it was an all ticket sell out so they know exactly how manay people are turning up and should steward it accordingly.

The trouble is, unless you are allowed to choose your seat when booking, you end up with people in the middle at the back who want to sit down all game and people on the edges or at the front who want to stand up and sing. Allowing the crowd to sort itself out usually works fine, except when it is a complete sell-out. That's why unreserved seating is often a good idea in stands like that.

Or, and here's a radical new idea, a terraced area to allow everyone to stand where they want and move freely around if they're not happy!

My ikkle brother is a Wanderers fan, having been born too late to grow up in the best city in the world. Therefore a draw is quite a good result for us, as it saves a few months of relentless taunting!
