&quotHog&quot wrote:Thanks Myles, I have to be honest and say this is the first I have heard of the Non-League Show!

But why didn't the club site give some publicity to the fact (a) he was going to be on, (b) he has been on, and (c) report what was said? (I know you have no idea because you're not employed at the club but you know what I mean!!).

Judging by the lack of dismay on here so far it may be that no-one else is particularly bothered: perhaps I'm letting it wind me up because I have a personal &quotnon-communication&quot problem with the club at the moment , over and above the general silence that has been the norm recently unitl IL spoke up last night?
So it is just me then.

Anyone else p!ssed off that they'll let Oxford Mail readers kids in for free on Saturday but not the kids of exiled season ticket holders unless they can get hold of a Mail voucher? Or is that just me too?

If you've got a season ticket you can phone in and order a free ticket for your under-16 year old.

Don't you know nuffink?

No you can't Boris - i've tried to. I have to have an Oxford Mail voucher &quotcos it's an Oxford Mail promotion innit&quot. I was speaking to the yoof so I got cheesed off a bit quicker with him than I would have with one of the girls, probably because of previous dealings with him and partly because of the apparent pleasure he was getting at cheesing me off. As there was no way he would bend I also left him a message for Mick Brown who isn't in until Friday.

Do you not attend OxVox committee meetings then Boris? Or were you wearing too many hats to fit them all through the door.

Not Boris. A guy called Simon Cant as I recall.

I Agree with you Mr. Hog theres no reason why the season ticket holders that travel miles every home game should not be able to bring there own kids to the game free of charge as per the promotion in the Mail.

Its a good way of getting more support outside of the county and its a lil thanks for all us exiles who pay train fares/petrol on top of the normal prices to get in / season ticket.

I think the Club is missing a beat with this one.

But on the face of it this isn't a club initiative, it is an OM promotion. That's not to say that the club shouldn't be doing more of this type of thing themselves but if the OM are funding this then I think they've got every right to ask for a voucher. As with all of these promotions you should be able to get a voucher without purchasing said paper but you would need to read the paper to find out how and I can't help you there because I don't work in Oxford.

There isn't any funding involved. Its purely a promotion to sell more OM and more OUFC tickets to adults.

Note for exiles, I've emailed the club, and they suggest booking tickets now, and buying the Oxford Mail on the way to the ground on Saturday, as Saturday's copy will have a voucher in.

There's funding and there's funding, the OM may not be paying for the seats but they are giving free advertising for the club by the sound of it.
