Grenoble Farm

NK: For fuck's sake, why did you go and do that?

FK: Do what?

NK: Speak to the Oxford Mail.

FK: They asked me for a quote.

NK: How many times do I have to tell you about not getting involved with that stupid football club again? Look, we have all these other things to do and then you go and get yourself involved in all that crap again. Can’t you just leave it alone and focus on more important things? Do you want me to fuck off and go and work for someone else or what?

FK: If you want.

a question for the 'grenoble road' scriptwriters: 'fuck's sake'? 'fucks' sake'?

i don't have to edit profanities that often, so would be interested to know.

Singular.

&quotLove of fuck&quot, for instance.

(Incidentally, has profanity policy on this forum changed recently?)

Yes, as has the use of definite articles.

I wasn't aware that we had a profanity policy. Any idea what it is (was)?

And definitely singular: fuck's sake. Correctly positioned apostrophes are far more important than the odd swear word.

Hmmm, as a proxy deity, how about &quotFor Fuck's sake!&quot

This thread sums up everything I read this forum for! You just wouldn't get this kind of pernicketry anywhere else on the internet.

You can't really be entirely sure of that, can you?

i have always assumed that the only policy we continued under was the banner of 'nothing homophobic, racist, or pro-Slumdon'?

back to the matter in hand - it's an odd phrase nonetheless, as one would have thought it should use the present participle. perhaps it's intended as a sacrilegious alternative to 'for god's sake', in which case i can see why the singular would be used.

I believe there was some discussion at some point involving the fact that some posters' kids also sometimes logged on.

Good, they'll learn a lot more about grammar and punctuation on here than they do at school.
