Entertaining as always.

As a Kent resident, I always get narked by those who assume that all the deprivation and run-down towns are in the North (thanks to baby-eating Tories, natch) - if you think Gillingham's bad, try Margate or even better Ramsgate.

Married life has made you all lyrical I see. Always entertained by your musings, bit obvious to call Gillingham Chavsville though. I'm sure they'll be waiting for you next time you turn up in North Kent...

The word, 'chav' came from Chatham originally I believe...

I take the Roy Walker approach to blogging - &quotsay what you see&quot.

I've updated it again, by the way.

With the Rotherham game.

The one that just happened on Saturday.

We won 2-1.

Quality. And it's free.
&quotThe word 'bleak' might well have been invented to describe Gillingham.&quot
&quotThe entrance for away fans to Gillingham's ground is an odd one, with away turnstiles placed at the dead-end of a residential cul-de-sac of mostly run-down terrace housing.&quot

On leaving the ground a sizeable number of United fans were singing &quotthis is the worst place I've ever been&quot. (Well it's in the top few). I heard a voice yell out behind me, &quotwell f**k off back to Oxford then&quot. I didn't bother to turn round but was told a bloke opened his bathroom window in the middle of a shave to deliver the best the residents of Gillingham could produce by way of a reposte.

Oh, and the ancient Andy Warrington is 34 yrs old. All of 5 months older than Paul MacLaren.

Not wishing to break the fourth wall, but I didn't actually think he was 70...
