De Ceri himself would be a better choice, he was good but underrated.

Funny, it's so much harder to do an awful XI, partly because you do your best to blank out all the worst players: I think Jude can consider himself unlucky to be in your team. Weren't we about 10th in the table when he left? Look back at that team that went down with 20-odd points in 2000-01 season ...

A slight variation, the team of players I most enjoyed watching: Paul Reece David Langan Paul Powell Andy Melville Matt Elliott Joey Beauchamp Jim Magilton Bobby Ford Paul Simpson Paul Moody Dean Windass Subs: Trevor Hebberd David Bardsley Dean Saunders Martin Foyle Jamie Brooks I only started going...

Have to say, Pena, that Stevenage played the best football I've seen this season, even when they had 9 players.

We were very lucky to get a point.

If they do win it, fair play. What an effort. Selling two of their best players, with few supporters and a tiny budget...with a philosophy of attacking (admittedly direct) football and scoring goals. F@ckers! Why can't we just have a nice easy life? How we may regret those awful couple of months whe...

Yes, I too am wary of such statements.

I'd imagine he's in the slightly awkward position of being the go-between between JS and the squad.

I'd suggest our rotten form until recently was much more a result of a formation that wasn't working, than any internal arguments.

Interestingly, this topic hasn't created one new song, just dug up some (pretty unspectacular) efforts from the past. Can we come up with a couple of new songs? To set the ball rolling: His name is Robert Duffy He's always in a huffy... He doesn't score enoughy He just takes penalties du du du duh d...

We can all agree though that Duffy and Yemi are our best combination, for all their faults? Duffy: Pros: scores goals, takes mean penalty, gets opponents sent off, reasonable in air, good lays offs when he can be bothered. Cons: immobile for no discernable reason other than laziness, comes accross m...

Re: Brevett. He hadn't played well in recent games, but no-one had done for ages. The recent upturn in performances, and hopefully now results, is down to playing 4-4-2. He should be judged in the new formation. 5-3-2 creates confusion, and the most confusing role of all is that of the wingbacks, wh...

Let's at least dreg up some good old songs if we're going to play this game. Personal favourites: We'll win again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll win again when Kemp is out. Der der-der-der- der-der-der- de der der CUSACK! He'll have a pint and he'll have a fight, David David Ru...

&quotAre you saying the Oxford women are not sufficiently beautiful for you Dan?&quot That's a whole new poll for another day. Songs: Must admit the current crop of players don't massively inspire me into song, but how about a little competition to see if anyone can come up with something fu...

Whoooah! Me - a non singer? Wouldn't ever say I was a big singer, but similarly, wouldn't say I was a non-singer. I'm somewhere in between. I sang a quite a few songs on saturday, inspired by the low roof, a much improved performance and the good atmosphere. My real problem is the sheer shitness of ...

Drumming up support

Given that I'm feeling all democratic, here's another poll: Drums at football matches: Love 'em Hate 'em I must admit, I love 'em. But then, I've always said I ever buy the club, I'll change our shorts to royal blue, put green trim on our yellow shirt, and introduce Brazilian drums and beautiful wom...

At the risk of sounding like Alan Hansen, I want Yemi on the shoulder of the last defender. All defenders (especially ageing non-league defenders) hate pace. Just another thought about the Duffer too. Just say we were about to play Dagenham and news came through that Benson had been dropped, would i...
