That was more like it. After a horror start, where Lincoln showed Us how to play out calmly from the back and have the ball in the back of the net within about 10 seconds, we played pretty well. I'd still like us to be a bit more instinctive going forwards - Stevens' booking came from Shodipo turning backwards when there were two players looking for the ball ahead of him, putting Brannagan under pressure rather than the Lincoln defence. But at least we had long spells of possession in the opponents' half, rather than just along our own back line.
Is it churlish to point out that Lincoln were without all their goalscorers and on a miserable run of form? Possibly. But it was certainly entertaining to watch, and in front of the Sky cameras as well! Great to see Leon C-P get some proper minutes under his belt - I wonder whether we'll see some more youngsters blooded now our senior defenders are falling like flies?
