The Eeyores on here are quite extraordinary. Whoever we signed as a striker was only going to be a reserve, because Mackie was fucking awesome on Tuesday! And against Portsmouth

Meanwhile... on the ‘other side of the fence’ in ‘what could have been Land’ Sunderland’s Oxford United supporting owners sell a player for £3m and bring in a another for £4m.
“Grigg, 27, has won promotion from League One three times and scored 17 goals in the third tier as Wigan went up to the Championship last season.” -BBC
This NI International has songs about him from members of his international squad (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47086441) whereby our NI International has songs about his member echoing from fans.
Which side of the fence would you rather be?

Not a lot of point comparing the two, Sunderland have six times as many fans as we do. Southend are a similar size to us, did they sign players for millions? Our other peers Gillingham did get Ricky Holmes

Agreed there is little point in comparing ourselves with Sunderland off the pitch. It is nevertheless remarkable how much business Luton, Sunderland and Portsmouth did during the January window to 'ensure' their return to the Championship. I have no idea whether any of them can afford failure. Good luck, Barnsley, who have a very sustainable trading model.
