I have just read that Maguire did OK under Appleton at Pompey being player of the month and scoring a few goals.

United pull off a bit of a coup with the loan signing of talented forward Chris Maguire from Rotherham.
Maguire, 26 has had previous spells at Aberdeen, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday.
Scottish International Maguire had a loan spell at Portsmouth under Michael Appleton in 2013:
