Re: The Retained list announced
No, but sensible.
We already start this season stronger than last:
+ Dunckley, MacDonald, Hoban, Skarz
- Raynes, Potter, Hunt, Newey, Meades and loanees
Now we need a creative midfielder.... oh, and a right back.

Re: The Retained list announced
Sign Roofe, Baldock and a midfielder with a bit of creativity about them, and that'll do me.

Re: The Retained list announced
Maybe slightly disappointed to see Matt Bevans not given another year to show he could make it.
What a waste of time and money John Thompson was.
Ditto Hoskins, Meades and Balmy.
There was far too much signing players on contracts who were really little more than triallists.
Hopefully Tippy will now have learned the lesson that scoring goals in much lower standard Leagues does not mean an ability to score goals in the Football League.
Creative midfielder is a must (Jed Wallace would be good, though I can't imagine Pompey would let him go), as is a right back (George Baldock would do nicely). Then if we can get Roofe, I would be very happy. After that, making sure we have sufficient cover in all positions.

I dunno, he was quite good in the Fast Show.GodalmingYellow wrote:What a waste of time and money John Thompson was.
In unrelated news, John Campbell's move to OUFC never worked out though

I'm slightly surprised Rose has an additional year. He was an unused sub for ten straight games in February and March.

And then put in a series of excellent performances through to the end of the season.slappy wrote:I'm slightly surprised Rose has an additional year. He was an unused sub for ten straight games in February and March.
I too am disappointed about Matt Bevans. And whilst I am not surprised about John Campbell, I am embarrassed at the way the club has treated him, from start to finish.

Just realised there is no mention of Michael Collins who I understand is OOC now.

I believe he triggered an appearance based clause in his contract which gives him another year.Hog wrote:Just realised there is no mention of Michael Collins who I understand is OOC now.

If we do sign Roofe on a permanent contract, that would be the best news for a long time at OUFC. Please let this be true.joepoolman wrote:Exciting tweet alert! https://twitter.com/OUFCOfficial/status ... 2399480832
Re: The Retained list announced
Indeed so. Why I am suddenly feeling more nervous about signing him now that we've seen that tweet than before? Maybe it's excitement masquerading as nervousness. Please let it be confirmed today.
