Let's have a betting round. You have wealth of £20. You must bet all of it making one, two, three or four bets. Bets must be in multiples of £5. Here is your choice with odds:

(a) Match result draw: 5-2
(b) Match result home: evens
(c) Match result away: 3-1
(d) First scorer Constable: 5-1
(e) First scorer Rigg: 8-1
(f) First scorer Hawley: 9-1
(g) No goalscorers: 9-1
(h) Correct score 1-1: 5-1
(i) Correct score 2-0: 7-1
(j) Correct score 1-2: 14-1

Winner has highest end wealth. Tiebreak: number of Oxford shots (whether on target or not) based on the BBC site.

Well, my spreadsheet tells me that this is why bookies make money and punters don't: with only (b) being correct, Hoglette ended up with £5 (plus her stake on that) and our winner is Sideshow Rob with £10 (plus stake). The rest of us lost all our money: a net gain for the bookies of £130. Over to Sideshow ... or, on past record, over to whomever sets the Grecian boot when the 36 hour rule is violated.
