I think all posters should take this quiz, with those scoring too low being removed immediately!
I managed 6/10 which makes me a 'promising pedant'

8 out of 10 for me - but question 8 was a complete and utter guess. All question 8 answers unknown.

7 out of 10, but not sure about the supposedly right answer to the fewer/less question.

7 for me too. You use "fewer" when counting things and "less" when comparing volumes, so there would be fewer than three cups of coffee or less than a litre of coffee.

The question was "which of these statements is wrong" so in this instance "fewer than five apples" is correct, therefore wrong.

4 out of 10 for me - broadly consistent with my place 'in the shallow end of the intellectual pool'.

Maybe, but most in the deep end don't like treading water and would prefer to be able to put their feet down!!

Ditto - was going to have a bit of a grump about that which I fouled up too. It was the one about the siblings - how about you?
