Very sad indeed.
First team I ever saw in a senior game, a 3-2 home defeat by Poole Town for I'd be tipping, my 6th birthday treat in 1983. I recall them being a decent enough Southern League outfit in the day, competing against the likes of Crawley Town that year.
More importantly, my first ever taste of Bovril.
It's been a wonder they've soldiered on so long, but I do hope there'll be a presence in the town again one day.
