The Birmingham live site looks back at the career of Mikael Forssell, a Birmingham City legend.
The connection is that his first senior appearance for Chelsea included two goals in a 4-2 win over Oxford United.

Former Leicester City manager, Gordon Lee, has passed away.
His final game as a manager was a 1-0 defeat of Oxford United by Leicester in the final game of 1990/91, saving Leicester from relegation from the 2nd tier.

Dave Collins on the rise of his son Nathan.

Presumably on our Ireland scouting radar?

Have we ever had a son of a former player play for us? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Yes, from the database it looks like he made two substitute appearances.

Big feature on John Aldridge, focussing on his time at Tranmere. I didn't realise he played quite so long for them, or that Tranmere were in the equivalent of the Championship at the time.

Congratulations to Sheffield Wednesday keeper David Stockdale who recently made his 500th professional appearance.

His first was for York City against Oxford United in 2003. Second half substitute in the last game of the season that we won 2-0 via Steve Basham.

Weirdly, I spent half an hour in the middle of the night on Thursday trying to stave off insomnia by unsuccessfully seeking to recall the name of the ineffective striker we signed from Aldershot during the relegation season to the conference, who turned out to be utter sh*t.

The next day, scrolling Twitter, I saw something saying that Tim Sills (for it was he) has just been made manager of Southern League Div 1 outfit Wimborne Town.

On a slow news day, Teeside Live says it's a shame that we aren't in the Championship, as Middlesbrough have won two promotions playing against us.
