Indeed he was, played left back alongside Rob lovegrove &amp Adam Garner. Didnt get a deal at OUFC but played a few years at Ossett Albion while studying at LEeds Uni, then went to the US before heading for Guernsey,,,,

Doesn't that just show what a tough profession it is. For the chosen 10% they get a fantastic few years with large payments but for the rest.........it's not so rosy........and all of the above were the guys at school/in your Saturday boys team who you just couldn't compete with on any level!

One obvious omission is Garath McCleary who is currently with Reading. I know he never actually signed a contract with us but he was here for three months or so.

Blimey. Nice use of the third person when referring to himself by Dean Holdsworth too.

I had a little chuckle after googling Jamie Brooks when I discovered there is a female Jamie Brooks with an &quotexotic&quot occupation.

David Rush, OUFC 1994-96, is apparently helping out as assistant manager at Gateshead with Anth Smith as manager, following the sacking of Ian Bogie. Yemi Odubade, OUFC 2006-09, scored a late winner for the Heed on Saturday against Cambridge United to send them into the next round of the FA Trophy.

Mansfield Town earned themselves a home FA Cup tie against Liverpool last week. Ex United players featuring were Matt Green, and Adam Murray was an unused sub. Billy Turley is said to be assisting there as a goalkeeping coach and was spotted in the changing room celebrations post-match.
