Really hope he pulls through somehow. How tragic.
Horribly similar to 2004 when the drummer from Muse's dad died of a heart attack while watching his son headline the main stage at Glastonbury. Very tragic indeed."Kernow Yellow" wrote:Amazing that Muamba seems to be making some kind of recovery. Listening to 5 Live on my way back to Cornwall after the game on Saturday, many of those interviewed were already talking about him in the past tense. A Premier League match is probably one of the best places to have a heart attack in terms of quickness of treatment.
Spare a thought also for Kilmarnock's Liam Kelly whose Dad died of a heart attack watching him win the Scottish League Cup Final against Celtic. The best and worst moments of his life only minutes apart. Both of these incidents put football into perspective somewhat.
For me just because a lower league player theoretically would wrongly not be recognised doesn't mean it was inappropriate for a prem player to be recognised."neilw" wrote:Was that applause really appropriate?
Would we have been applauding a lower league player in a similar circumstance, whom hadn't been tracked by the media?
Of course, it'll be great for Muamba and his family if he makes a full and speedy recovery
Actually, we and other lower league clubs probably would have done, though whether Bolton and Spurs and their Premier colleagues would have done likewise is a different matter....."neilw" wrote:Was that applause really appropriate?

Someone or something was definately shining on him that's for sure. Interesting interviews with the Bolton club doctor and the cardiologist who rushed onto the pitch on the BBC Website as well. Even they seem somewhat amazed at his speedy recovery."Mooro" wrote:Actually, we and other lower league clubs probably would have done, though whether Bolton and Spurs and their Premier colleagues would have done likewise is a different matter....."neilw" wrote:Was that applause really appropriate?

Dead for 72 minutes, yet completely coherent when he woke up, does defy belief doesn't it?
