Ron Atkinson took umbrage

From the Torquay Herald last week
TORQUAY UNITED'S GREATEST GAMES: A nice glass of sherry... followed by four-goal salvo from Robin Stubbs
...
Robins also recalls how his previous campaign (1963-64) was interrupted by serious illness.
He'd scored 20 goals by Christmas, before two holiday games against Oxford United away and home.
"I had a temperature for the game up there and didn't feel right," he said.
"I was seeing two or three balls at times, went for one of them in front of goal and ended up heading their goalie in the throat.
"Ron Atkinson (future Aston Villa and Manchester United manager) took umbrage, and we both got sent off.
"I played in the home game against them a couple of days later and then keeled over during dinner at the Redcliffe Hotel (Paignton) in the evening.
"By the next morning I had a temperature of 107F, an ambulance was called and I was carted off to Torbay Hospital with pleurisy and pneumonia.
"I was out for a month, a shame really because I was going quite well at the time."
