Talking of the wage cap where are Boston getting their money from?

They have already signed four new players who will not be cheap on the wage bill:

Francis Green from Lincoln

Tim Ryan from Doncaster

Mark Allbrighton from Chester

Anthony Elding from Stevenage.

On average gates of 2,400 they still have to pay the likes of Julian Joachim
and Lawrie Dudfield.

Its a good question, and they did a similar thing last season as well. I guess they must have a generous Chairman or something. Only way to find out is to check their accounts.

Scuse my ignorance on this but, if OUFC bought the stadium next week would that add millions to our turnover and thereby increase our cap by millions too? Not that they'd have any money left!

No ignorance at all Hog.

Provided the club bought the stadium as opposed to the stadium company shares, yes it would is the answer, though funding an increased wage cap is a different issue altogether and that would depend on how much cash the stadium could generate or how liquid the Chairman is (not in a vin rouge sense you understand).

If the club or WPL bought the shares in StadCo, or WPL bought the stadium, then there would need to be a lease agreement change so that the club took all the income streams to have an affect the wage cap.

The reason for these subtle differences is that to affect a change in wage cap, it is the club's turnover, not the group's turnover which counts.

A particularly pertinent question when both the club and manager have a record of financial impropriety.

I see today that Boston have at last managed
to offload a couple! Their squad was looking ridiculously big.

Centre half Alan White and striker Lawrie Dudfield have
signed for Notts County today.

Boston signed Torquay 'keeper Andy Marriott
and Peterboro' winger David Farrell this week.

I see that Boston United chairman Jon Sotnick
has today resigned his position on the board
of BUFC and parent company Lavaflow.

He claims the club cannot afford to pay him a salary!

Ex-Boston Utd chairman Jon Sotnick has turned up at Darlington FC
as their new chief executive!
