I think you'll find that rule 16(iii) of the Boot Constitution states that where identical entries are posted, the first to post wins the Boot.

I investigated the rules thoroughly a while ago when I was wrongly denied a win over the Grey/Silver coach incident ( it was grey ).

A clarification issued at the time I believe states that in the event of a draw the boot is halved and the bootsetter sets a supplementary tie break question for the entrants who are level to decide the next setter.

Well that would be the fair way of doing it but as we all know life and the boot in particular aint like that.

You mean the boot I won for correctly noting the silver/metallic colour of the coach? Not that you are bitter in any way. By the way, if you have £82k to spare, you can buy the coach and keep it as a souvenir (in lieu of the boot that you lost).

You can set a tie break question if you like.

If not, I'll Boot up next week.

I don't think there is any need for a tie break. You were the first to jump on the fact that the game would be called off. That's a fair and square win as far as I'm concerned.

The boot is on your foot now!!

An interesting interpretation of the boot.

So if I am the first poster to forecast an Oxford win in the next boot, if that is the question posed, everybody else who predicts the same answer fails.

Never mind after this and the Grey coach incident I understand how the England 2018 bid team feel.
