6,200 (1,200).

UE: A bedraggled group of ramblers in Yellow are seen tumbling down the hill in the distance half way through the first half. The away support sing &quotshould have come in a tractor&quot.

Them 1 (Rendell) Us 1 (Constable)

Att: 6666 with 2345 of Us

UE: Chris Wilder retains his record as never having lost an away game in the Football League. Chaos ensues at half time in the away end due to the Q’s for catering and the bogs (but to be fair that always happens when we go to WWFC so I don’t expect a UE point for that). There are loads of wasps about – well they do play there and it is August.

WhyCome? 2 - 1 WhyNot?

Beavon, Betsy. Green

7400 of whom 2500 aren't supporting a 'non-league club'.

UE: United's entire away support of more than 2000 decide to re-enact the now traditional cycle ride/pub crawl from Headington to Adams Park blocking the entire A40 causing snarl-ups as far back as Stokenchurch. Meanwhile WhyCome's newly-signed double-pronged attack force of Cyrille Regis and Simon Garner dominate the juvenile Oxford defence, each bagging a goal and Garner nicking a late winner with a ricocheting off his Zimmer wheel. My Uni mate Darren, a chronic WhyCome? fan, finally cheers up after quite literally spending the last twenty years as a moaning student.
