Bah, 1-1 in the end - but York beating Luton is useful. Now PLEASE bang it away at home next week

I couldn't quite believe the time-wasting towards the end of the game, R&ampD were more than happy with a point. You can expect much more of the same on Monday I would think.

The first half we played as good football as I've seen us play all season, only the Wimbledon game comes close and I'm not sure why we didn't or couldn't carry it on as well during the second half.

Time for the ubiquitous complaint about the officials, we had a blatant handball in the area turned down, it was far more blatant than the one given against us at Eastbourne, this was followed in very quick succession by another blatant foul in midfield which the ref chose to ignore and this led to them breaking away and scoring.

They didn't threaten much and we had plenty of chances in both halves, let's hope that the belief is within them now and we can go all the way.

Edit:- for the benefit of the apostrophe police.

First half we were excellent, but yet again once we had scored we lost all momentum, we weren't snapping in the tackles or for the second ball and Matt Green went AWOL.

Constable won pretty much everything in the air but nobody was anywhere near him to get on to the flick ons and knock ons.

Several of our players were too busy arguing with the ref when he didn't give the foul to bother defending their attack which led to the goal. We know the refs are crap, but you won't change their mind so play to the whistle chaps.

They were a spiteful, niggly bunch of timewasters, especially their number 3 who deserved a serious slap.

Did anyone else see the John Terry circus, what a nob, helicopter to the all weather pitch at the back of the stadium then a blacked out people carrier with steward and police escort across the car park ( about 75 metres ) to the stadium. I'm sure he loved the extremely loud rendition of does your brother shag your wife to Paul Terry during the game.

If we can recreate the first half form we will do them on Monday.

Interesting that Luton's only win against any of the play-off sides is still that fucking lucky one against us. Are they really as good as they think they are?!?

I did wonder if he was at the game or indeed if he ever4 went to see Paul play. This answers it. What a knob. If I'd known he was there, I'd sung that even more loudly.

Just a thought but does anyone know how to get a login for matchday chat? It would have been useful last night.

You just need to ask:
Login: oxchat
Password: jabberwock
(all lower case)

Although you may have been in there on your own last night!

Cool thanks. If any exiles can't make it to the 2nd leg you'll find me on the matchday chat.

I've tried that 2 or 3 times in the past - never managed to get it to work.

Well summed up. A referee with proper authority would never have let them get away with it.
They were not adverse to using the elbow. The one on Midson could have been a red instead of yellow. There was also a blatant one on the back of Beano's head for which no card was given. The number three grabbed Potters around the neck off the ball but after the lino called the ref over he just copped out and gave both players a talking to.
Let's hope the ref is better on Monday. And one who does not allow the game to be stopped if the opposition has got cramp (real or tactical) with 20 mins to go.
Oh, and bloody Louis - backs on, sticks his hands behind him, grabs his marker and wins the bloody free kick. What's that all about?

Ignoring that manner in which their goal came about I thought a draw on the balance of play was about right. Also less chance of us being complacent than taking a lead into the 2nd leg. But this is far from over.
