Not saying I support this......but what do people think about him coming in as Number 2 to an experienced man?

Most experienced men already have their own sidekick of choice...

No way! We might as well have stuck with Patto if we're gonna bring in another 'young, inexperienced' manager.

No.
We need a manager experienced and knowledgeable at Conference level with a track record of success.
Having said that, didn't Hessenthaler manage Gillingham reasonably successfully? If he has decent knowlegde of the players at this level, he could be a very useful asset.

Not for me - time for experience not for sentiment.

No No & No again.
No experience.
Another legend who could end up with a very tarnished reputation.
Another centre half. Not that they do not necessarily make decent managers but I would like to see someone with a bit of attacking nous in post.

The Oxford Mail must be really pleased with the bite they got on here.
I bet their sports editor was the only one who has voted “yes

What is it about Oxford and centre back managers? Denis Smith, Malcolm Shotton, MarK Wright, Darren Patterson. How about an ex striker for a change, or better still a mid field general. Jim Magilton? No. On second thoughts nobody who has ever even been to Oxford would be better. Steve Cotterill would do - a star in the making that has faded recently and needs a club like Oxford to make his mark again.
