Good to see he's been given a proper contract. Two and a half years (presumably to the end of 2010/11 season) is a long contract but presumably it ups the value if he eventually goes to a bigger club.

Excellent news - these are the players who should be getting the long contracts - the youngsters with promise, so that we either keep them or (as mentioned above) can extract more cash if they are tempted to pastures new.

Presumably when he goes to Arsenal for £15m, RO gets a cut?

well, we did get him the boots that helped him earn his pro contract, but i'd settle for a pint the next time he's buying.
