Adam Murray

A new signing, midfielder from Macclesfield (lets try not to think about our last signing from Macclesfield, Marvin Robinson). I've seen him play for Macclesfield a couple of times this season, I can't remember a great deal about him individually, but the Macc midfield was tidy and passed the ball around nicely. So he's not absolutely sh1te, at least until he's played for us for a few months.

A worrying view from their manager about him though!!!!

If the quote is an accurate reflection of the players' thoughts, then this is indeed a worry.

However, I wonder if the Macc Manager has interpreted a comment that Murray would rather play regular first team football in the Conference than sit on the bench in League 2.

I think he's played basically every game for Macclesfield this year, he's not a bench warmer.

Perhaps the location is the problem.

Sounds a bit like a case of sour grapes to me.

Am very happy with this for a number of reasons:

1. We have gone after a player under contract and a regular at a league club and got him
2. This means Patto can sell the club to a player
3. We must be able to pay decent money for him to consider moving - which would indicate we are going to give it a good go for the rest of the season
4. Torquay didn't want to let him go, neither does it seem does Macc so he clearly has something about him.

A positive start to the new signings - lets hope theres more to come.

Craig McAllister- Stiker from Grays....

In days of old he has looked fantastic against us.....but....he certainly has baggage and an 18 month deal?

I've been wondering for a while now whether this lies at the root of our problems. Not that I have any reason to believe it, I hasten to add.

Adam Murray is a quality midfielder to have at Conference level
and has an excellent range of passing. Good signing imho.

Has always looked useful when playing for Notts County, Mansfield
Town, Carlisle United and kidderminster Harriers.

chatting with my good friend who is a derby fan this morning. Apparently Murray is an alchoholic who was found up a tree, in a suit, clutching a bottle of champers after a party at DCFC one season. Needless to say his time at that club came to an end soon after. Lovely.

Good story, but it is from Nov 2003 so let's hope his demons have not returned. And that he doesn't hang out with Smiffy too much...!

Good? Yeah, I bet that's how he felt!
