Ok, poor quality VHS but what goals from Joey and Bobby. And what a miss from Robbie Keane!

Homegrown's all right with me.
Homegrown is the way it should be.
Homegrown is a good thing.
Plant that bell and let it ring.

Rather late period Young for some of us oldies. Albeit pre-Thatcher's election.

He was never the same after scoring that Cup Final winning goal for Man City against Leicester in '69. Bloody hippy.

I know. I can hardly remember seeing 3 better goals in the last 3 seasons let alone in one game. Joey and Bobby Ford were class. Also nice to see Remy and a great ball from Jemson that made me whoop when I saw it. How long do we have to wait before we see football like that again?

Wow, I'd forgotten all about that game. Though I now remember standing on the London Road Terrace and wondering how on earth Joey had managed to score from that angle.

Doesn't Remy look comfortable on the ball? I'd forgotten how class he was too.

I'd forgotten how good that team was. Simple effective passing footie on the ground. Skill from the likes of Joey, Bobby Ford, Jemmo &amp Remi obviously helped too. Seems a million miles from what we have seen of the last x no. of years.

I agree that it seems like a lifetime ago. It leaves me with mixed reactions, as I can remember clear-as-day watching games like that (inc this one) from the London Road and that fills me with joy. But also looking back at the season just gone, it fills me with a mix of sadness, anger and bitterness. Not nice.

However, I guess it is memories like this that keep me coming back for more!

I remember the ex-pro on the commentary team that day (Alan Brazil?) suggesting before the game started that Beauchamp was a bit of a &quotshow pony&quot - he turns up for the big games, but goes missing at other times.

Bit like Thierry Henry-syndrome but in reverse.

Also see &quotSachin Tendulkar&quot.

I doubt that Brazil had seen Beauchamp play more than half-a-dozen times, and none of them in a state of sobriety.

Does that explain Joey's weaving runs?
