Of course it is valid. It is requiring the thoughts of the reader to be added to reach the same conclusion as the author. The sentence could have been continued to detail the reasons behind the conclusion, but was left deliberately truncated, and so the ellipsis was perfectly formed. I would be interested to see a valid source, stating grammatical regulation rather than opinion, that an ellipsis should be preceded by a space or formed of just 3 dots!

Did I hear on RadOx after the game that they're hoping to get them into the Football League in 5 years? You've got admire their ambition when they currently have only a few hundred supporters and the 30,000 other local fans flood to a slightly larger club about 3 miles away. Perhaps they're hoping to pick up the ones who won't be able to afford Premiership prices?
