Hang on, even with 11 men we barely made their keeper break sweat. The uncreative way we were playing about the best we could've hoped for was 0-0, something which was rendered impossible by the 10th minute.nd the outcome of the game would almost certainly have been very different.

things that annoyed me today:
1. erm, well, that referee really. what a nosebleed. the niggly fouls and blocks stopped much of our play.
2. people stating that lee steele's goal for orient "sent us down". it didn't. we were going down before he scored, although admittedly that goal hardly helped in the circumstances.
3. lee steele's frustrating insistence on scoring against us. i like him, both as a footballer, and from the way he comports himself towards us, so if he'd stop doing that, we'd get on okay.
4. lee steele's frustrating insistence on following us around (and see point 3 above). even tommy mooney had the good grace to bog off to a higher division after a season.
5. our increasingly apparent reliance on adam murray (see how i turned a positive into a negative there?..
. when he plays, we play. and when he doesn't...
6. that embarrassing 'w**ker' chant. ever since the awful stafford rangers game when it reared its head (possibly with some justification) it has been trotted out for anyone who has the temerity not to wear the right coloured shirt. please make it go away.
7. DRUMS.
things that didn't annoy me today:
1. the absence of knee-jerk dismissals of patterson and his team (although admittedly i haven't looked at TiU yet), and the good support they received throughout the match.
we didn't collapse, and certainly for the first half after we'd conceded, kept pressing. i would've waited a bit longer before making changes, but hey, what do i know? let's have a win against weymouth next weekend and we can all stop worrying again.
p.s. the semi-final for whatever it is those kids were playing for before kick-off was great!

Re:
We'll never know and yes, perhaps we wouldn't have scored but the sending off totally screwed up our shape and organisation, particularly as Patto had already played 2 of his substitutes athalf time leaving him with very few options to reorganise."Jimski" wrote:Hang on, even with 11 men we barely made their keeper break sweat. The real point being that this wasn't another all time low. We only just lost to the form team in the league after having won 3 on the trot ourselves.
