I think we should wait and see what happens next before commenting too much.

Much as I’m very tempted to though...

Then they are fools.

Big fools.

A google search reveals that Lee Barnard is currently waiting for trial for an assault he allegedly committed about 18 months ago. Not sure if there's potential for him to be sent down or not.

I think Beano is a £500k || striker anyway, even without the matter of the bidding club being a promotion rival.

Agreeing to sell our top striker for the last 3 years, to one of our main rivals for promotion, is bonkers, unless it is for silly money. Unless it is for really serious money, it is little better than handing our potential promotion place to them, and Wilder and Thomas will lose a lot of credibility and goodwill for this if it happens.
Not bonkers inthe slightest.

No way on God's earth is Beano worth £500K! For starters look at his first touch,it's barely good enough for midtable L2.

He's just ONE player as well. There are at least 4 more valuable players in the first team to boot.

If we get anything more than £225K , (and I bet we have), that's good business.

You bang on about football clubs needing to be run with financial prudence. You can't have it both ways.

Let's see who the replacement(s) are before vowing vengeance on the management hey?

Lastly, I bet Darlington wish they had our problems!
Absolute nonsense young man.

Ignoring that you've mixed up about fifteen different arguments with no relevance to each other.

There are very few strikers who have consistently scored more than Beano in this division. And virtually none that provide so many other aspects to the team, and certainly we have no one in the team as good or anywhere near as valuable (financially or footballing) as him.

We do not have another marksman. And please don't say Craddock, good though he is, he is never going to be 20 goals a season and he does none of the chasing down, nor the movement that Beano has.

Thanks for calling me a young man.

Craddock has a better scoring record in L2 than Beano, check the stats out.

I'll raise you Duberry, Clarke, Leven, Potter as being better players.

Even Wright on his day.

Dont bother responding , I,m right

Breaking news...

Slumdon Town FC
@Official_STFC Slumdon Town FC
James Constable will not be joining #stfc after the striker turned down the chance to speak to the club about a move to The County Ground

Same on our website too.

Nothing like a good old transfer saga to make your evening at work go by quickly

And so the saga goes on.

The club says &quotyes please, we'd like your money you nice people from down the A420&quot, but Beano would rather not play for the scum.

Well done that man. No, not you Ian Lenagan.

After all this, I wouldn't be surprised if he moves elsewhere in the transfer window, but he can move now with his legend status intact, even further strengthened.

Fair play to him.

Fair play to him. Officially a legend now. Would never begrudge him a move to a bigger club, but never to the scum.

My mate knows someone inside the club that he thinks is fairly reliable, and apparently he turned down double wages and a £50,000 signing on fee.

I wonder why the club went public this afternoon with this information
because it would appear that JC was never going to speak with STFC.

Was JC fed to the wolves? Judging by twitter he was easy prey.

Much to the frustration of Thomas and Wilder, loyalty does still exist in the game. Full credit to Beano for having the bollocks to say &quotNO&quot

Hahahaha to Di Crapio.

Get in Beano!
