You've repeated your dislike of these layers often Steve. It's your opinion and you are entitled to it.STEVE F wrote:A COMPLETE DISGRACE , POTTER WRIGHT AND CONSTABLE ARE BEING GIVEN ANOTHER YEAR TO SHOW FANS JUST HOW USELESS THEY ARE A WASTE OF THREE CONTRACTS, GET RID OF THEM GW IT WILL BE THE FINEST THING YOU WILL EVER DO FOR OXFORD UNITED .
I WOULD CALL THE THREE OF THEM USELESS BUT TO CALL THESE THREE SO CALLED PLAYERS USELESS WOULD BE TO PRAISE THEM UP .
It makes me wonder what a striker has to do to get your seal of approval though as apparently being the second best striker (relative to club's position in the pyramid) ever to wear an Oxford shirt isn't good enough. Strikers rely on the team to provide scoring opportunities, which the team hasn't done nearly enough. Even so Beano has still scored 1 in every 3 games based on minutes played, which is a good average rate and not forgetting his tireless team play as well. If Beano has been offered anything less than 2 years on similar or better terms, the club will have acted disgracefully.
As regards Potter, I tend to agree that since his injury, he has lost a significant amount of pace, which is a real problem for a winger. However, getting rid of him would just mean having to pay off his contract, and get another player in at extra cost. Better to keep him as an extra player (at no additional cost) in case he is needed, and hope his pace and form returns. It would be bonkers to get rid of him at this point.
Wright is another who has struggled since injury, although his effort to clear off the line against Cobblers shows his heart and motivation, despite the knuckle scrapers in the crowd. Definitely deserves another chance.

Roberts, Humphries & Hawtin all signed their first pro deals last week and now Long and Shama have signed their new deals today.
The latter have signed for one year with a further one year club option and I believe (tho not 100% certain yet) that the former are the same
Congratulations lads....

Re: Contracts
Newey has signed a one year deal.
Re: Contracts
Indeed he has, while Constable has turned down the offer given to him and has signed for East BridleighSmileyMan wrote:Newey has signed a one year deal.
Bevans allegedly turned down the new deal he was offered, with the club then choosing to trigger the one year option on the Dev deal he signed last summer.
We now await any incomers
