Poor you. I was quite happy with my seats in the singing section (132, row 36). The bloke behind me wasn't keen on me standing on the seats of the row in front of me, but that's probably fair enough - he was quite short! Apart from that we stood up, sang, screamed and cheered all game. Even the German woman with a 7 year old son stood next to me didn't seem perturbed by it all. Which I'm very pleased about, as anyone who tried to get me to sit down and/or shut up yesterday would have got extremely short shrift."recordmeister" wrote:I hated the people around me at the ground. Singing section? Fuck off! Hordes of children who were attending their first match and parents tutting at the language. Go and sit elsewhere if you don't like what we're saying. It was an option when you bought tickets. I didn't like the fact that people didn't know song, players names etc etc.
There's an easy solution to this problem of course - get rid of seats in football grounds! Or at least in the 'singing' sections. As the numerous bruises all over both my legs testify, they are an unnecessary encumbrance. But fair play to Wembley for allocating singing sections, which is obviously code for 'we won't make you sit down'. I wish more clubs had the same attitude.
As to the game, once we went 2-0 up I was always confident. We were defending so well that I just couldn't see us conceding another, and as others have said, the fact that the second half didn't drag at all is testament to the way we were playing. Everyone did well, and it was probably the best I've seen us play all season. And what great goals too. How refreshing to see us perform well when it really matters!
Bye bye Conference, we're a Football League club again, and despite a hangover from hell, it feels fucking brilliant.
