I didn't know that Billy Turley had played in the World Cup.

We did have a keeper that played in the World Cup finals but BT is way better than he was.

Bulgaria vs Mexico, Giants Stadium New York.

Quarter Final tie that went to penalties.

Why did we ever let Pal Lundin go instead of that clown...

Didn't we also have an Irish keeper who played in the WC finals under Jack Charlton?

Paul Kee played for Nothern Ireland I believe.

Don't think Kee played in a WCQ. Mick Kearns played for the Republic in World Cup qualifiers, but they didn't make the 1978 finals.

Don't think so, but Kassam Rippedusov did.

Ah yes, it was Paul Kee I was thinking of. He must have played in a qualifier rather than the finals.

Not a World Cup qualifier. Various Euro Champ qualifiers, including the epic 1-1 draw with the Faroe Islands.

Sorry to bring this topic back to the original point, but we do seem to have stopped finding new lows.

Maybe it’s because we’ve suddenly got lucky, what with two penalty saves against Histon and that miss from 2 yards from Them (which may or may not have been offside) in the last few seconds against Droylsden today.

Or maybe we’ve stopped being unlucky, like there was no such thing as a curse on the Minchery Farm site, and we can be a normal football club again.
