FA Cup
Ok, OK, having looked at the stats, it is amazing how the mind can lead you believe something that is not true at all.
many of my targets have indeed been in higher divisions since we were Kemped, and more amazingly, only other one team that has been in the bottom division for each of the last five years (ie. the same as Oxford), had a higher cumulative finishing position than we did (76)
Not Rochdale (68), not Macc (71) or Orient (69)....but good old Bristol Rovers on 83.
However, the prize for the best clingers on goes to lil' ol Forest Green in the conference who in the last seven years have finished 19th, 16th, 18th, 9th (w'hay), 18th, 20th and 20th out of 22.
So away with the stats, blind prejudice to the fore - Boston and MKD for the drop (preferably through bankruptcy), then us and well, anyone to come up with us, tho perhaps D&R would be appropriate as they were cheated out of it by Boston in 2002, or Morecambe as they have finished in the top 7 in 6 of the last 7 years and perhaps deserve a shot at the higher level.

Re:
Forest Green's best 'player' is their secretary - Colin Peake - who manages to locate arcane rules that other Conference clubs have broken, shops the rule breakers - with consequent relegations - and keeps FGR up. The man should be guven the freedom of Gloucestershire."Mooro" wrote:Ok, OK, having looked at the stats, it is amazing how the mind can lead you believe something that is not true at all.

After the other week I only wish his sterling work on unearthing Altrinchams misdemeanors last season had proven conclusive.....as long as he only picks on clubs I do not like then more power to his elbow...."Resurrection Ox" wrote:Forest Green's best 'player' is their secretary - Colin Peake - who manages to locate arcane rules that other Conference clubs have broken, shops the rule breakers - with consequent relegations - and keeps FGR up.
