I've gone for Nigel Clough. He's done a cracking job at Burton Albion but......
a. Could we afford him?
b. Would he want to come?

There are two I'd be very happy to see at Oxford, first choice being Lee Sinnott, who was outrageously successful at non-league level (although I will concede that he blotted his copybook somewhat at Port Vale), and the second being Alex Inglethorpe who laid the foundations of a successful side at Exeter (although whether he could be persuaded from his cushy job at Totnum remains to be seen).
Steve Cotterill might be another but do we have the clout to appeal to him anymore?
I don't like any of those named on the list.
The sort of managers we need to be looking at. Need to be able to build a team with little cash, bring the yougsters through when possible and get some bargains from The Conference and maybe lower.

Ian Holloway would be my prefered choice, but i dont suppose we would have enough money for him.

NOT Nigel Clough, he's been at Burton for ages and they're still non-league wusses. Not that he'd leave his comfort zone for us anyway.

Sounds like he'd fit right in

Jose or Sir Alex or Sven for me. Anyone else would just show a lack of ambition from the directors at the football club.
Outside bet: Kevin Keegan...!

I vote for James Sandom. He manages the Kaiser Chiefs.
Their 1st album has gone 6x platinum in the UK selling nearly 2 million copies. He's done a great job with them.

Yeah but the last two albums haven't lived up to expectations - they seem to have been found out and theres no plan B.

I wish we'd got Clough instead of Patto back in the day. Not sure he'd be the right choice now that we're skint.
Rosenior's probably the best choice for the current situtation.
Best thing is that we're asking for applicants and then interviewing. 17-odd years too late but perhaps this will be the real turning point?
