I had a free Saturday today whilst visiting my in-laws in Dorset so went to watch Wimborne Town v Farnborough in the Southern Prem. Both Sam Deering and Ricky Holmes started for the visitors and absolutely bossed the game. Farnborough won’t be at that level for long - they have great quality throughout the squad. Deering scored the opener (although a massive deflection means he might not ultimately be credited with it) and both he and Holmes had loads of chances to add to it. Mad that they’ve dropped down so far - both looked capable of playing in the Conference / Conference South.

Eight appearances at the end of the 1950s with no defeats (but only two wins - the other six were draws!)

Long item but I love this sort of article even though some of the later subject matter is hard to read. Fair play to Clarkey for being so positive and best wishes to him for a happy future.

Darren Purse appointed U23 manager at Cardiff City, having previously worked at Oxford United's academy. That means he has now played for and been part of the coaching staff at both clubs.
