Pep Clotet
Pep Clotet
Happy we have gone for a young coach who will work with the existing coaching staff including Faz.
We shall have to see if his tactics work in the third tier and I hope he brings on some of our homegrown youngsters rather than imports.

Re: Pep Clotet
United appoint Josep "Pep" Clotet Ruiz as the club's new manager rather than head coach -
the title previously held by Michael Appleton.
The length of the contract has not been disclosed at this stage.
Clotet has recently worked as assistant to Garry Monk at both Swansea City and Leeds United
and his coaching abilities are highly regarded. The Catalan is 40 years old and turned down
the chance to manage Brentford in November 2015. He has also worked in Sweden and Norway.
Welcome to Oxford Pep !

Re: Pep Clotet
Good news. He's the one I (with my extremely limited amount of information) would have chosen from the list of contenders.

Welcome Pep!
Anyone know any Swans fans (oh, hang on...!) or Leeds fans who might care to comment on him?

Re: Pep Clotet
Will his matchday programme notes be headed up: " Pep Talk ?"
I think they might.

On the other side, the 'pep talk' joke has been done to death!
Various other grim puns come to mind....

Re: Pep Clotet
In amongst the Latin scholars out there, any Spanish speakers who can confirm if his surname is pronounced Clo-TAY, clo-TET, or something else? Is it a short or a long 'o'?

Re: Pep Clotet
Unfortunately, holidays mean I shall not see him until early September (my seat is just across from his)...
Re: Pep Clotet
I think his name is pronounced pretty much as it's spelt for English-speakers (i.e. the final 'T' is not silent)
Re: Pep Clotet
Shall we try and do better than the "other place" with a song or two?
Oh we have a manager from Spain Y Viva Pep Clotet
We're playing a Barca style game Y Viva Pep Clotet
If you'd like to win a match or four in some cool cabana
And beat other teams by the score Pep Clotet por favor

Re: Pep Clotet
No public announcement by Oxvox yet about the new manager: perhaps they're still interviewing their candidates?
Re: Pep Clotet
Interesting times - on the face of it doesn't get pulses racing given his results as a No.1 but you could have said the same about Appleton and look how that turned out.
Good luck Pep hopefully you have an eye for a striker.

Pep at Elland Road - beige slacks and a beige Ralph Lauren Polo pullover.
Not yet a rival for Paul Tisdale though:
