Sounds like he'd made his mind up to leave St James Park almost a year ago.
So although Exeter will be disappointed to lose a homegrown, long-serving player, Sercombe's stance is beyond their control.

What I am most excited about is that we seem to be getting these players nice and early. Too many summers have seen us lagging behind our rivals in snapping up the hot talent.
