...which I think moves MAPP into the top 60..
Interesting early names mentioned: Freedman, Petrescu & Tim sherwood, but also a certain Nigel Clough - wouldn't that make daddy proud??
Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Dougie Freedman just been appointed the new manager at Nottm Forest.

Two in two days - ~Gary Johnson leaves Yeovil - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31131828
Gillingham have approached Newport for Edinburgh, but have yet to agree compensation...
QPR have also reportedly approached Tim Sherwood, so clearly have no real ambitions to stay up
Johnson was 12th on the list, so Appleton up to 58th

Justin Edinburgh appointed at Gillingham http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31112173
which means he leaves Newport after 3 yrs 4months, which had moved him up to 9th in the managers list,
so in turn Appleton is now 57th
Joint caretaker at Newport? a certain Mr W Hatswell

It is amazing to think that someone who achieved nothing more than two 15th placed finishes for one of England's 'great' clubs was able to somehow reach 13th place in the longest-serving manager table!!!
Early favoiurites are: tim Sherwood (eek!), Sean Dyche , Klinsmann, REdknapp, Lennon, Laudrup or Glenn Hoddle!! while more interesting options are : di Canio (16s at PaddyPower), Southgate (8s at William hill) or Stan Collymore (50/1 at BEtfair)
Appleton another place nearer the top 50

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Really? Lots of talk about big money TV deals today but Lambert was on a shoe-string budget by PL standards. The wages and transfer fees at Villa in the last few years have been tiny compared to the likes of QPR, Fulham, Palace, Cardiff etc. He inherited a team that had finished 2 points above the relegation zone and finished 5 points above the relegation zone in consecutive seasons.Mooro wrote:http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0 ... 31,00.html? - short, sweet, but music to the ears to a large proportion of the Midlands.

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
I'd say so, a couple of fallow years does not discount the many, many top ten finishes they've had across the years. Probably in a 2nd tier of greats (with say Spurs, Everton, Man C and a couple of others) behind the top tier (Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool).Kernow Yellow wrote:LolzMooro wrote: one of England's 'great' clubs
Anyway, Danny Wilson for the Villa job????
