Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
It's incredible to see how much change has happened in roughly 13% of Chris Wilder's time at Oxford (up to now), or just over 2% of Ferguson's time at Man Utd!

Well, I suppose a week and a half ain't bad....Mooro wrote:
Well Ladies and Gentleman, with this afternoon's announcement from Eastlands regarding the arrival of Mr Pellegrini, I do believe that for the first time since the beginning of this thread we actually have a full house of 92 managers in place!!!
A mere momentary pause perhaps, as I am sure the merry-go-round shall resume oh so soon!!!
Oscar Garcia Junyent (who took Maccabi Tel Aviv to their first title in 10 years in his first year in management) odds on to replace Poyet - Spanish press already quoted last week as saying he has been offered the job. Sherwood, Hoddle, & di Matteo, along with Rosler and Redknapp all showing between 10-16s.
Marc Mghee has kindly offered to stand in as caretaker for pre-season while any legalities carry on...
Poyet 2/1 next Toon boss (with Joke 3/1) and also faves for various other roles, with a few rumblings in the press (still) that he might replace Laudrup at Swansea, and the bookies still seem confident that Martin Jol is not long for Fulham with Poyet odds on to be next boss there too.
No odds on where Poyet will pitch up yet, but imagine those three will be near the top of the list....
Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Well Brighton didnt take long, almost as though they'd made a decision before the disciplinary hearing was held!
Some media reports say that Paul Ince has submitted his resignation at Blackpool but that it has been rejected, with the club going on to post a picture on Twitter of him leading training.

Over two weeks this time, but the first casualty of pre-season is just down the A420, with Kevin Mcdonald leaving, for personal reasons, after just a few months in charge. Early rumours suggest disgruntlement at the board for signing players without his input, but I'm sure more will come out soon.
Mark Cooper has taken temporary charge

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Early favourites to replace KM: Sherwood 4s, Pearce 6s, Cooper 8s, Wise/Mellon/Ling/Appleton 10-16s, Hoddle 20/1 - pretty much as you would expect, usual suspects looking for jobs & anyone with a Slumdon link.....wonder if Hoddle would take it?
Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Helicopters buzzing over Wiltshire?
Les Ferdinand 2nd favourite now behind Glenn Hoddle for the Slumdon post.
Further links to Spurs have Tim Sherwood and U21 manager Chris Ramsey at 10s, with Mark cooper out at 16/18s with the rest 20/1+
With the board acting as DOF, bringing in various Spurs youngsters, then this would make some sense, but which of those five would be happy being a Yes-man?

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Big talk last week of Tisdale taking the Slumdon job, with some bookies stopping taking bets. He is still odds on, but McCrory now saying that he will take his time and will be happy with caretaker Mark cooper taking the first few games if necessary.
Looks like the groundwork being laid to take the cheap option, with cooper said to be a yes man for Lee Power, currently DoF....
Not a particularly happy bunch of campers at the moment - aaah diddums!

Your preoccupation with the scum does you no credit young man.
'Oop the Warriors!'

It's been very quiet for a while but the first head has now rolled (and no great surprise to those of a Stobart-esque persuasion)....

Too early? Two had gone by this time last season, Chesterfield seem to have got it right, Cov less so (although appointing RObins not their greatest worry since).
Four then went in the second half of September, though few signs that others are ready to act quite yet!

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Early favourites are mainly those with links to the club:
Graham Kavanagh heads the list - Abbotts #2 and current caretaker
Paul Simpson - born in Carlisle, managed there previously and got them into then back out of the Conference (currently working in Portugal though reportedly has shown in interest in the role)
David Irons - current youth team boss at Carlisle and has managed four teams in Scotland
Eric Kinder - is a former coach there.
David Unsworth 3rd favourite, Danny Wilson and Chris Wilder are at 16s (joint 4th).
Most of the usual suspects then follow as per normal
Jimmy Glass is 100/1

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round
Carlisle currently have a shortlist of 7 candidates, though are reviewing some additional applications, so plan to draw up a revised list after the weekend and hopefully have someone in place by the following Saturday. Caretaker Graham Kavenagh remains in charge for the next game and is one of the names on the short-list.
With that in mind he is evens favourite with the bookies. Danny Wilson and Paul Simpson remain next in the list, with our old friend Ian Atkins 4th at 12/1!!
Other higher profile names include Michael Owen, Peter Schmeichal and Nicky Barmby all at 20/1.
Dave Penney 33/1, Brian Horton and Chris wilder 66/1, Jimmy Glass 250/1
wonder who is next for the chop, things are far too quiet!

Can't imagine Tony Mowbray is sitting too comfortably either.
